Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I expect?
At Bloom and Grow Physiotherapy we provide physiotherapy services in women's pelvic health, a specialised area of physiotherapy, for women through all life stages. We also provide physiotherapy services for newborn babies, toddlers and young children. We can assess, diagnose and assist you in managing your health concerns in these areas. You may be required to complete a new patient form and initial questionnaire. We take a comprehensive history and work with you to establish goals that are important to you and your lifestyle. Your appointment may take 45-60 minutes. If you have multiple concerns, please book an extended appointment time. We will then determine the best assessments required, and start to create a treatment plan with you, that will work towards these goals and fit in with your life. Please keep in mind that due to the complexity of this area of health, this process may require a subsequent appointment. We are passionate about educating our patients, understanding their body, and options for treatment, working collaboratively with your GP and other health professionals involved in your care. Your health and happiness is important to us.
  • Do I need a referral?
No, a referral is not necessary. However if you have one, or any other relevant information, please bring along with you to your appointment. It may be necessary for us to contact your GP in some instances so please provide up to date GP information.
  • If I book a Pelvic Health Appointment, will I be required to undress?
If you are an adult being treated with a pelvic issue, you may be asked to consent to an external or internal pelvic examination. Pelvic examinations can be useful to assist in diagnosis and treatment plans. This will be discussed with you at length during the appointment to ensure you understand the procedure, and can make an informed decision. This will only be carried out if you feel comfortable to do so and can consent to the examination. However, there are many instances where we do not need to do this during our initial appointment, or subsequent appointments. We will work with you and your wishes as it is your body and our goal is to ensure you feel safe and comfortable at all times.
